Emergency Assistance

At Via Pribina, our priority is to keep traffic safe and flowing smoothly for everyone using the R1 highway.

Our dedicated motorway patrols – known as the „Men in Yellow“ – are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide immediate assistance in the event of a breakdown, accident or any other emergency.

Need Help?

If you experience a breakdown or emergency on the R1 Via Pribina highway:

  • Pull over safely onto the hard shoulder whenever possible.
  • Switch on your hazard warning lights.
  • Put on a high-visibility vest before leaving your vehicle.
  • Move behind the safety barrier and keep all passengers away from traffic.
  • Call our free 24/7 SOS Hotline: 0800 333 333.

Our operators will respond as quickly as possible to ensure your safety.

What Happens Next?

When you call our SOS Hotline, our dispatcher will ask for:

  • your exact location,
  • your vehicle registration number and type,
  • the nature of the problem,
  • whether you have a spare tyre (if applicable), and
  • whether you have already arranged a towing service.

If you have not yet contacted a towing company, we can arrange one for you. Please note that towing services are provided at the driver’s expense.

When our patrol arrives, they will first secure the incident to protect you and other road users. If you have already arranged towing, our operators will coordinate directly with the towing company whenever necessary.

In situations where waiting for a towing vehicle would pose a safety risk, we may tow your vehicle to the nearest safe location at the driver’s expense. If you run out of fuel, our operators can also provide emergency refuelling, with the cost of the fuel borne by the driver.

Professional Assistance Around the Clock

Our operators are professionally trained to assist not only with your vehicle but also with the safety and wellbeing of you and your passengers. They secure incidents, minimise the risk of secondary collisions and, where necessary, coordinate with the police, firefighters, ambulance services and other emergency responders.

A team of 45 trained professionals works around the clock to keep the R1 Highway safe. Operating from our two Operation and Maintenance Centres near km 52 of the R1 Highway and on the R1 Banská Bystrica Bypass, they are ready to respond quickly wherever assistance is needed.

If you need help on the R1 Via Pribina Highway, don’t hesitate to call our SOS Hotline. We’re here for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
