On highways, operators like those from Via Pribina Operations are constantly working to ensure everyone´s safety.

Their vehicles, like the ones displayed at Pohranice rest area (direction BA) and one in Tekovské Nemce rest area (direction BB), are often positioned in high-risk zones, dealing with emergencies, construction, and maintenance tasks. And while they take all the precautions to be safe, such as using bright signal lights, they rely on drivers like you to stay alert and focused while driving.

So how did this happen?

The van you see was hit by a truck driver who, for just a few moments, lost attention. In those few seconds, a preventable accident occurred—an accident that could have cost lives.

Minimize distractions

Put your phone away. No call, message, or notification is worth a life.

Respect the speed limits

Speeding reduces your ability to react to unforeseen events. Slow down, especially near construction or emergency zones, especially when you see patrolmen on the road.

Keep a safe distance

Always maintain enough distance between your vehicle and others. This gives you more time to react in case something happens ahead.

Stay alert

Long drives can cause fatigue. Take breaks when needed, and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Obey road signs and instructions

Always follow the instructions on the signs and from highway patrol operators. They’re there to protect you and others.
